At this time last year, the Texas Longhorns were among the favorites to reach the Women’s College World Series behind a slew of powerful bats and one of the best 1-2 pitching combos in the nation.
Weeks before the season began, their pitching ace and Player of the Year contender unexpectedly departed and the Horns had to roll with what they had. It was still a quality effort – one that saw them host a Regional and reach the Super Regional round – but fell short of that WCWS goal.
Now, as the 2022 season nears, the Longhorns have reloaded for another shot at a World Series berth.
