From January 3 through the beginning of the regular season, we’re going to take a look at every Division 1 conference and Forecast what to expect in each league this season. Today, we take a look at the Northeast Conference, the NEC.
I. Conference Breakdown
There are nine teams that play softball in the NEC. Those programs include Bryant, Central Connecticut State, Fairleigh Dickinson, Long Island, Merrimack, Mount St. Mary’s, Sacred Heart, Saint Francis, and Wagner College.
Last season, Saint Francis won the NEC’s regular-season and conference tournament crowns, finishing with just two losses in league play and reaching the 40-win plateau overall.
