Texas State head coach Ricci Woodard has seen a lot of softball. A veteran coach with a lot of experiences under her belt, it takes a lot for the even-keeled Bobcat leader to start dropping superlatives. When Woodard uses words like being “excited” about what her team brings to the table, it’s time to sit up and listen.
After narrowly missing the postseason last season – the Sun Belt runners-up, the Bobcats were among the ‘First Four Out’ of the NCAA tournament field – Woodard’s squad returns a number of starters and a lot of experience this season. Entering 2023, add “optimistic” and “hopeful” to that superlative list.
