30+ More Adds to the Signing/Verbal List Including ASU, Clemson and UCLA

Carsten Puckett became the first South Carolina (in-state) commit for the new Clemson softball program.

The late “under the wire” commits before the April 25th start of the Early Recruiting “No Contact” Rules continue to be disclosed and we’ll probably learn of many that were finalized in in the final few days.

We have some of those included in the more than 30 that we’ve added to our Extra Inning Softball Signing/Verbal list that encompasses players from the Classes of 2018 to 2024.

But we’ll also keep busy for a long time adjusting, correcting and updating the lists of nearly 3,000 as we get players who signed or committed not just to D1 programs but also DII, DII, NAIA and even JC’s.

Before we unveil the list, here are a couple updates on highly-touted underclassmen to watch…

*****

Carsten Puckett is a 2020 pitcher/infielder who plays for the Carolina Elite Gold team coached by Dana Fusetti and she is one of John Rittman’s earliest commits for the Clemson Tigers.

Carsten is one of the top two-way players in South Carolina of any age.

For the last two years, Carson has been the starting pitcher for her Gray Collegiate Academy school in West Columbia, South Carolina.

She’s also been a two-time All-State honoree and was this year’s AA Player of the Year.

Currently, she leads the state in home runs and RBI and has batted over .600.

She told Extra Inning Softball why she decided to become a Tiger:

“I’ve been playing with the Elite for two years and I start at third base. I received other D1 offers, but I waited on Clemson and to get in front of Coach Rittman. I verballed on Friday, April 20. I’m Coach Rittman’s first in-state commit and I’m excited about Tiger Softball!”

Remmington Hewitt, a 2022 shortstop with the Sorcerer Gold – Gabales team, has committed to Arizona State.

Remmington was ranked in the top 65 of the 2022 Elite 100.

The NorCal standout made our Elite 100 list for the 8th grade class because she’s an excellent athlete with great range in the infield.

She lit it up last fall when she hit .522 at top showcases like PGF Ultimate Challenge and Surf City and at the OnDeck produced West Coast Elite Camp her 87.1 Allister Index Score was 2nd in her class.

She had Big Ten, SEC and other schools after her before committed to Coach Trisha Ford and the Sun Devils.

Remmington is the second in her family to play at the next level as sister Preslie, a 2019 grad, is headed to Nevada-Reno.

Both Carsten and Remmington used our “I Committed” form and if you aren’t included in our Signing/Verbal list or have info that needs to be updated, feel free to share your info with us!
