69 More Updates to the Signing/Verbal Database!

Hannah Turnbull is a two-time All-State middle infielder from Atlanta who signed with Georgia Tech.

This week we add an impressive 69 new players to our Extra Inning Softball Signing/Verbal database—the majority of them seniors we found as we looked at dozens of signing stories from last November and this spring.

Every softball signing tells a story of the hard work an athlete puts into reaching her goal of playing at the college level and a signing class builds optimism for the future of every single program.

Take Georgia Tech for one example of a player that was added to our database this week.

Last June, the Jackets hired Aileen Morales, a former standout player for the program, and the coach helped the ACC school go 28-26 (13-11 in conference) and finish above .500 for the first time in six years.

To continue the upward movement, the talent coming in is crucial and last November Coach Morales signed her first recruiting class, four players including three from in-state.

One of those was Hannah Turnbull, a player who brings a strong softball resume to Tech… here’s what the school release said about the graduating high school senior:

A local student-athlete from Atlanta, Ga., Hannah Turnbull joins the Yellow Jackets after a successful high school career at Parkview High School. Lettering all 4 years at shortstop, Turnbull helped her team win the regional championship title in 2016, and appear in back-to-back elite eight appearances in 2016 and 2017. Her personal accolades include first team all-county and all-region in 2016 and 2017, and an all-state selection in 2016 and 2017. She set the career-hits record for Parkview and has been selected to participate in the Georgia Dugout Club’s all-state game.

And here is what Coach Morales said in commenting on her signee:

“Hannah is a strong middle infielder with solid offensive numbers. Her athleticism will allow us to improve our defense on the infield as we look to be one of the strongest defenses in the country.”

There are myriads of ways we learn about signing and verbals and in this specific instance we learned about one that was signed we didn’t know about through other channels such as coaches, players and/or family members telling us.

If you have news to report of a signing, verbal or also of a player who has changed club teams, go to our Contact Us page and fill out the info in “I Committed!” (2nd tab down) or “News & Story Ideas” (5th tab down) to get info to us.
