KUNA, Idaho — A breathtaking $120 million dream is taking shape in Idaho’s fastest-growing region — one that could redefine softball and youth sports across the Northwest.

First covered by Fox 4 News on April 21, 2025, the story captured local attention for its bold vision and community-driven mission.

The project, led by David McMenomey, a local father and Little League coach, is poised to become the largest youth sports development in the Northwest — a game-changing investment in the future of young athletes.

You can help make this dream a reality sooner rather than later — whether through monetary donations or by spreading the word and rallying others to join the movement.

To hear more about the heart behind this mission, an exclusive interview with David McMenomey is posted below. View the Stunning 3D Flythrough Tour HERE!

The 114-acre project, spearheaded by McMenomey’s nonprofit True Gritt Youth Sports in partnership with the City of Kuna, will feature 14 artificial turf softball and baseball fields, eight indoor basketball courts, a 5,000-seat championship stadium, hotels, restaurants, and a family entertainment center.

Although Kuna is a small town, it’s one that’s dear to my heart and where I raised my children. But it’s also Idaho’s fastest-growing community, located just 15 minutes south of Boise — the state’s capital and one of the nation’s top ten fastest-growing metro areas, with more than 20% population growth in the past decade.

Boise’s airport, located only 20 minutes from the proposed site, adds accessibility for traveling teams and visiting families from across the country. That rapid growth has fueled a major need for accessible youth sports facilities — and this complex is the answer.

Affordable, Accessible, and Built for Families

At Extra Inning Softball, we know how expensive it can be for families to chase tournaments and exposure opportunities — flights, hotels, gas, and endless weekends on the road. This new complex changes that narrative.

The Treasure Valley’s mild climate, with over 200 sunny days each year, makes it an ideal place for year-round softball. Families could compete in high-level events while easing the travel burden, saving thousands while still gaining national exposure in the Northwest.

This project could even pave the way for Extra Inning Softball to host national events locally, a longtime dream of mine to bring more major opportunities to the Northwest.

Mike Stith, President of the nationally renowned Batbusters organization, emphasized the importance of this project for the sport’s continued growth, stating:

“Our sport revolves around high-end facilities. As college softball skyrockets in popularity, developing elite players on first-class facilities is a must. This type of facility not only will allow Idaho softball players to train and play at an elite level facility, but it will also bring in the nation’s best events.

The Valley provides all of the amenities a world-class event requires. A close international airport, hotels, food and entertainment, great weather, and now a great facility. This could help make the Valley a destination for the best events in the country.” — Mike Stith, President, Batbusters Organization

A Legacy Opportunity for Sponsors

A project of this magnitude is more than a community investment — it’s a legacy in motion. The new $120M Kuna, Idaho Youth Sports Complex offers visionary partners a once-in-a-generation opportunity to make a lasting impact on youth sports in the Northwest.

Becoming a naming rights sponsor means your brand won’t just be seen — it will be remembered. Your name will stand at the heart of a world-class facility where thousands of athletes, families, and fans will gather each year. This is more than signage; it’s an enduring statement of leadership, faith, and commitment to the next generation.

For those wishing to contribute on a smaller scale, the Community Honor Wall offers a personal touch — donors who gift $250 or more will receive a custom-etched brick bearing their name or message, displayed permanently within the facility. Learn more and donate a custom-etched brick HERE!

Extra Inning Softball is proud to support this vision with a financial contribution — a gesture of commitment to the game, its players, and the communities that keep it thriving. We encourage all softball supporters, organizations, and fans who share our passion for growing the sport to join us in giving back. Together, we can help build something that will impact generations of athletes to come.

“This is a divine calling,” McMenomey said. “We’re not just building fields — we’re building a future for kids and families who deserve this chance.”

Growth, Faith, and the Future of the Game

For Extra Inning Softball, this is more than a local project — it’s a movement that perfectly embodies our mission to empower, inspire, and support young women through the game.

A facility like this creates real opportunities for athletes in the Northwest while strengthening the regional economy and community.

As more families relocate to Idaho and surrounding areas, projects like the Kuna Youth Sports Complex ensure that softball — and sports as a whole — continue to thrive in an environment that values family, faith, and perseverance.

This project is about more than fields and buildings — it’s about legacy. It offers young people a place to belong, to learn discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and to discover their gifts both on and off the field.

With every sponsor, donor, and community partner who joins this mission, we move one step closer to building a future where every athlete has the opportunity to grow, compete, and believe in what’s possible.

Together, we can make that future a reality — right here in the heart of the Northwest.
