Southwestern University has promoted head softball coach Alexis Lynn to the role of Senior Woman Administrator, the school announced last week.
Lynn will maintain her position atop the softball program, adding the SWA title and duties to her existing responsibilities.
“I am very pleased Coach Lynn has accepted our offer of the SWA designation for our athletic department,” Southwestern athletic director Ken Ralph said in a statement. “Alexis cares deeply about the experiences of our students. She is a vocal advocate for equality and is unafraid to meet challenges head-on. I’m looking forward to working with her as we craft a model athletic department fully committed to diversity, inclusion, belonging, and equity.”
Entering her fourth season as the head of the Pirate softball program, Lynn has guided the program to three consecutive SCAC tournament appearances during her tenure.
Prior to taking the reins at Southwestern, Lynn was the head coach at fellow SCAC-member Schreiner University.
