Blog: SEC Commit Taylor Pannell Readies for “Journey to PGF Nationals” With Strong New Team

Taylor stands ready for a new Journey to PGF Nationals.

All last season, Taylor Pannell–a third baseman/shortstop from Milan, Illinois who plays for the Beverly Bandits organization and a verbal commit to Auburn as of January 2018–blogged for Extra Inning Softball about her Journey to PGF Nationals, her primary goal as a young player aspiring for greatness.

Taylor was one of the Top 10 players from the Extra Inning Sports Class of 2022 Elite 100 rankings and we first met her in an Extra Star Power feature and since then she’s done a cool video slide show to the tune of “California Here We Come”, talked about why it’s so important to return to So Cal for the PGF Nationals and also the importance of role models (and how others feel she is one).

That was last year and after her team finished at 2-2 and tied for 33rd at PGF Nationals this summer, Taylor is fired up to be on a stacked new 14U team within the Bandits that should once again not only make the PGF Nationals field, but considered one of the early favorites.

This weekend, while she and her new team are playing in the PGF Shootout in Crown Point, Indiana, the freshman talks about looking back and, especially looking forward…

My name is Taylor Pannell a 2022 Auburn University commit. I play 3B/SS on the Beverly Bandits Premier 14U team.

A few weeks ago, we played in Huntington Beach California for our PGF Nationals. It wasn’t the finish I was hoping for, but that finish will make me a better and stronger player moving into this season.

It’s Labor Day weekend and the summer is official over. This weekend started the Fall season for the Bandit organization and my team will be playing in the PGF Labor Day Showcase.

This weekend is my first tournament playing with my new team and coaching staff. We have only had four weekends of practice since we got back from California, but the team has practiced every Saturday and Sunday.

We added four new players to the team that I have gotten to know throughout the past few weeks.

This will be the most talented team I have ever played on and I’m proud to be able to call these 11 teammates my sisters. I’m so excited to see what this upcoming season has in store for me.

And this is my Journey to PGF Nationals!!!!

I’m very excited to make my Journey to PGF Nationals with these very talented ballers:
