Breaking News: All-American Kendyl Lindaman Announces She’s Headed to Florida

… for more transfer news as another All-American has made headlines.

Yesterday, word hit the wire that Oregon 1st Team All-American pitcher Megan Kleist was on the move (final destination not announced yet) and over the last 24 hours Minnesota All-American catcher Kendyl Lindaman announced via Instagram that she would be joining Tim Walton‘s Gator program:

Word was spreading around the NFCA Convention in Chicago of the standout backstop’s pending location in what one source called “the worst kept secret in the game.”

Lindaman is a two-time All-American selection, earning nominations to the 1st team in 2017 and 2nd team in 2018. Twice named the Big Ten Player of the Year, Lindaman hit over .500 in conference play during the ’18 season and owns 40 home runs from her pair of seasons as a Golden Gopher.

The third-year backstop’s trophy case includes the 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year award, as well as consecutive 1st team All-Conference and All-Region nominations. Lindaman was additionally a Top 3 finalist for the National Freshman of the Year award during her rookie year.

As she finds a new home, Lindaman carries a career batting average of .393, with 40 home runs and 131 RBI. She owns a .865 career slugging percentage and a .565 on-base percentage, with 118 career walks.

In high school, Lindaman was ranked by Extra Inning Softball’s Brentt Eads as one of the top 100 players in the Class of 2016 as she played for Greg Dickel’s Iowa Premier Gold squad and led her team to the PGF 18U Platinum Championship in 2016 the same day when she also played in the PGF All-American Game.
