Breaking News: Elite 100 2018 Kassidy Krupit Gets Release, Commits to Bears

… sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words and this one makes it clear where Kassidy Krupit is going to sign and player her college softball.

When Delaware made a coaching change on May 29, announcing that John Seneca would be relieved of his duties, it also would ultimately mean that the Blue Hens would lose the gem of their 2018 signing class.

Kassidy Krupit, one of the top hitters in the 2018 class and a Top 20 ranked player by Extra Inning Softball in the Elite 100 decided to check out her options by first getting a partial release and taking some official visits.

She told us just within the last hour how the process went from Delaware to Baylor:

“When I came out of my graduation ceremony,” the Georgia standout begins, “I had heard that my Delaware coach, John Seneca, had been relieved of his duties. I was worried and was thinking, ‘What If this is a sign to be somewhere else?’”

“I had talked to the athletic director two days after and asked for a partial release, so I could look around at other schools, while being committed to Delaware. Baylor was one of the many schools who have reached out and It was a no-brainer to go visit.”

Kassidy Krupit with Baylor coaches Glenn Moore and Britni Sneed Newman.

“I went on a visit Monday and knew that was the place I needed to be! The coaches and players are amazing and the campus was gorgeous! The physical therapy program (her preferred major) was outstanding too.”

“There was also some comfort knowing that Carlee Wallace, who showed me around on my first official visit to Auburn, was on my last visit to Baylor. Everything has fallen into place.”

“Monday night, I requested my full release from Delaware and received it today, two hours before I committed. Coach (Glenn) Moore called me after compliance checked my release and asked if I wanted to be a Baylor Bear. My response was, ‘Oh my gosh… yes, yes, yes!’”

“This is really my dream come true and I absolutely cannot wait to be a Baylor Bear!”

“Sic ‘em!”

Kassidy is recognized as one of the top recruits in the 2018 class.

Kassidy, a PGF All-American who will play in the ESPN-televised game the night of July 27, was also the first player announced as being confirmed for this year’s Louisville Slugger Hit Club which will run from July 28-30.

The graduated senior will sign with Baylor and then join the Bears this fall. Kassidy has blogged for Extra Inning Softball previous—you can check out her vblog on Pitch Recognition and also her article on What Softball Has Taught Me.
