Missouri and head coach Larissa Anderson have agreed to a contract extension, the school announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Under the new contract, Anderson will now remain the Tigers’ head coach through the 2026 season. She signed a five-year deal upon her hiring in 2018 and earned an extension after her first year at the program’s helm.
Anderson has won 66 percent of her games since arriving at Mizzou, posting a record of 96-49 in three seasons. The Tigers reached the NCAA tournament in 2019 and hosted both a Regional and Super Regional during the 2021 postseason.
The victor of 226 career games entering the 2022 season, prior to taking the helm at Missouri, Anderson was head coach at Hofstra for four seasons. She also spent time as an assistant with the Pride, LIU-Post, and Gannon University, her alma mater.
In a school statement, Mizzou athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois said:
“This is a well-deserved extension for Larissa. Excellence is our standard and she has built our softball program into one of the best in the nation. Under her direction, the team has shown improvement every season, been successful in the classroom, recruited at a high level and had a thrilling postseason run in 2021. We are looking forward to a bright future as she and her staff continue to build on last season’s success.”
