Delaware and head coach Jen Steele have agreed to a contract extension.
The new deal stretches through the 2027 season and secures the Blue Hens’ head coach for the next five years.
In four seasons as the Delaware head coach, Steele owns a 95-58 overall record. The Blue Hens won their first-ever Colonial Athletic Association title by virtue of the regular-season championship in 2022, finishing with 29 wins on the year and an 11-4 conference showing.
Steele was named the CAA’s Coach of the Year after the 2022 season.
Athletic director Chrissi Rawak, in a school statement, said,
“We are thrilled to extend Coach Steele’s contract and have her continue to lead our softball program. Jen and her staff have done a tremendous job creating a positive and winning culture that has led to amazing success both on and off the field. I am excited to see what the future has to offer for Delaware softball and proud to have Jen leading our student-athletes.”
