Texas A&M is hiring Eric Leyba as an assistant coach.
Leyba spent the last five seasons on staff at Oregon State. He was part of the coaching staff that led OSU to the Women’s College World Series in 2022.
At Oregon State, Leyba worked with the Beaver infielders and hitters. At Texas A&M, he fills the position vacated by Joe Guthrie, who worked with the Aggies’ defense.
Prior to his tenure at Oregon State, Leyba spent fifteen years as a high school head coach in Oregon. He coached collegiately at New Mexico State and Oregon in the late 1980s and 90s.
In addition to his coaching career, Leyba played on the Mexican National team in men’s fastpitch in the mid-1990s after beginning his own playing career at the age of 16.
