One of our favorite parts of covering softball is when an athlete gets to see her dreams come true, especially when it means getting a scholarship to play at the next level.
Our Tweet of the Week Verbal comes from Carli Spelhaug, who had an awesome year for her Pleasant Valley (Iowa) High team as she led the Spartans to a repeat Class 5A state title and earned All-State honors by Spelhaug hitting .479 with 10 home runs, 44 RBIs andd 22 steals.
She declared this week where she would play her college softball:

Carli took an official visit in September to the Cyclone campus when the football team played Oklahoma and told the Quad City Times: “I just had that feeling after I left campus,” she said. “I knew right after that. They had great coaches, great facilities and great academics. It just felt right.”
Overall, we have 41 new signings, verbals or club team changes added to the database impacting programs like Cal, Central Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Penn State and many others!
