After a tumultuous week among many of the nation’s top teams, only the top team remain unchanged in Week 5 of the Extra Inning Softball Top 25 poll.
Oklahoma maintains their hold atop the poll; Oklahoma State moves up to #2 after winning a series over Florida State. Tennessee, Stanford, and UCLA round out the top five.
Kentucky saw the biggest jump, moving up six spots to #11 in this week’s poll following three shutouts in a true road series against Missouri.
New to the poll this week are Texas A&M and Texas State; the Aggies won a road series against Arkansas, including run-ruling the Razorbacks in the series finale. Texas State earned two major wins, beating Alabama and Texas in the final two games of a round-robin tournament in Austin.
Extra Inning Softball‘s Top 25 voting group includes working media members who regularly cover softball, as well as a group of coaches and SIDs.
