There’s a new #1 atop the Extra Inning Softball Top 25 poll.
After an undefeated weekend in Clearwater and as the top remaining undefeated team, UCLA takes over the top spot in this week’s Top 25.
Following a loss to Baylor on Sunday, Oklahoma falls to #2 in the rankings. Oklahoma State, Florida, and Clemson round out the top five.
Alabama and Stanford experienced the biggest jumps in this week’s poll, rising ten spots and six spots to #9 and #7, respectively. Stanford beat Georgia twice in Athens, while Alabama left Clearwater with a 4-1 showing that included a win over Florida State.
The biggest drops in the ranking were felt by Northwestern and UCF, who fell seven and eight spots, respectively. Northwestern is now4-4 on the season, while UCF posted a 2-4 record last week.
Four teams joined the poll this week after previously being unranked – that group included #13 Duke, #17 Baylor, #24 Missouri, and #25 Texas A&M.
Extra Inning Softball‘s Top 25 voting group includes working media members who regularly cover softball, as well as a group of coaches and SIDs.
