Recruiting News: Taylor Snow Commits to Play at Home In The Pelican State

Taylor Snow is a 5-foot-10 pitcher who’s a junior at LaSalle High in Olla, Louisiana and has pulled off the rare quadruple achievement of winning softball championships at the club level and high school levels while maintaining a 4.0 GPA and being ranked No. 1 in her class.

At the 1A state level as a freshman, she was named MVP of the state tournament and, as a sophomore, her team finished 2nd at state, but both years she was named as a 1st Team Louisiana All-State selection.

On the club side, Tayor joined Ed Naudin’s 16U Texas Glory team in June and helped the team win the USA/ASA Gold National Championship in Dallas as she pitched a complete game for the title.

In August, the 2020 grad joined Kevin Shelton’s Texas Glory 18U and playing for both highly-successful coaches helped her achieve her dream of playing in-state.

Initially, while playing for the Louisiana VooDoo prior to high school, Taylor was offered by the University of Memphis and committed.

“Right after the summer of my 8th grade year, I was heavily recruited and accepted their offer at the age of 15,” she remembers. “Approximately a year later, I began to desire the dreams of all college players–to play in the WCWS– and I had a long conversation with my parents about de-committing and striving to make a Top 25 university.

The athlete decommitted in December of 2017 to explore her options but continues saying, “Unfortunately, in April of this year the NCAA rules changed and no offers could be heard until September 1st of 2018–my junior year.”

Still, she took advantage of the opportunity to check out possible college options and do her homework.

“I had a great summer with my Dad traveling all over the country to explore all my options and visited some amazing programs.”

“I worked hard and developed my pitching more and more through the summer,” she explains. “Playing for Texas Glory–Naudin team and now Texas Glory–Shelton gave me the exposure I needed at all the biggest events and pitching for Texas Glory and winning the USA/ASA Gold National Championships was one of our many highlights.”

Going into the fall of 2018, Taylor had a number of big schools following her as she played at top-notch showcases.
