North Carolina is expected to hire Fale Aviu as the program’s new hitting coach, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball.
Aviu has spent the past three years on the support staffs at Ole Miss and Oklahoma, her alma mater. In 2020, she was a student manager at OU before moving on to serve as a graduate assistant at Ole Miss during the 2021 season. She returned to Norman and OU in 2022 as a graduate assistant.
The UNC position is Aviu’s first full-time coaching role.
As a player, Aviu was an All-American in 2019 at Oklahoma and helped guide the Sooners to back-to-back national titles in 2016 and 2017. She was a three-time all-region selection, including being chosen twice for the all-region first-team.
