
Indiana State and head coach Mike Perniciaro have agreed to a contract extension.
Perniciaro’s new deal will stretch through the 2027 season.Â
The 2023 season was Perniciaro’s sixth at the helm of the Sycamores’ program and saw the program set records with 32 overall wins and 17 conference wins. After finishing fifth in the regular-season conference standings, the Sycamores also earned a berth in the Missouri Valley conference tournament championship game.
“I am pleased with the leadership Mike has built into this program,” Indiana State athletic director Sherard Clinkscales said in a statement. “This was a tough job, but his infusive positivity and talented staff laid the groundwork for a championship level team. I am grateful that Coach Perniciaro, Shannon, Nick and Alex will be a part of the Sycamore Family and Vigo County community for years to come.”
During his tenure at ISU, Perniciaro owns a career 133-155 overall record and a 57-75 record in conference play.
Prior to Indiana State, Pernicaro’s resume includes head coaching stints at Wichita State and Northwestern State, as well as time on staff at Indiana, Ole Miss, Auburn, Georgia, and Centenary.
