Southern Illinois’ Jackie Lis has been named the Extra Inning Softball Player of the Week for her efforts during Week 6 of the Division 1 softball season.
Lis batted .500 in five games, with five home runs and ten RBIs to her credit.
Against Missouri State on Tuesday, Lis recorded her second-consecutive multi-home run game, going 3-4 in the game with the two longballs and three RBIs. She was 0-1 against the Bears in a second game on Wednesday, but notched an additional RBI and was intentionally walked once.
In a weekend series against Valparaiso, Lis was 4-8 at the plate, scoring at least one run in each of the weekend’s matchups.
A perfect 3-3 at the plate to start the Valpo series, Lis hit three home runs and notched five RBIs on the day. She was walked and scored a run in the second game of the series, then finished the weekend iwth a 1-3 performance that included driving in her 10th run of the week.
Now boasting ten home runs on the year, Lis has hit seven in the last ten calendar days.
