Georgia College & State University head coach Jamie Grodecki earned her 500th career win on March 14th in a 13-10 triumph over Young Harris.
Here are Five Fast Facts about the Bobcats’ leader.
1. She is in her 13th season as the Bobcats’ head coach.
During her tenure, Grodecki has led the Bobcats to five NCAA tournament appearances and a Super Regional berth in 2015. Her tenure has also included nearly three-dozen all-conference honorees.
2. She is the winningest coach in GCSU program history.
Even before her milestone win in March, Grodecki already held the title of the Bobcats’ winningest head softball coach. Her 500th career win was also her 346th at GCSU.
3. Georgia College is her third head coaching stop.
Prior to beginning her tenure at GCSU, Grodecki spent three years at St. Petersburg College and also previously served as head coach at Southern Arkansas.
4. In addition to coaching, she is an administrator in the GCSU department.
The Bobcats’ head coach since 2011, Grodecki added the title of Senior Woman Administrator in 2016 and Assistant Athletic Director in the summer of 2019.
5. She was a two-sport athlete in college.
During her own playing career at Alabama-Huntsville, Grodecki played both softball and volleyball. She won three conference championships with the softball team and was part of the UAH team that appeared in the D2 WCWS in 1999.
