Alabama players Jenna Lord and Abby Doerr both entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer portal on Monday, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball
Doerr graduated high school a semester early in order to join the Crimson Tide for the 2020 college season. She played in eighteen games during the shortened year. During the 2021 season, Doerr had a heroic moment in the Women’s College World Series when she pinch-hit against Arizona and hit a 2-run home run.
This season, Doerr batted .227 with one home run and 17 RBIs in 97 at-bats. She has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Lord, for her part, finished fifth on the Crimson Tide roster with a .289 batting average this season. She played in 45 games, with 30 starts, and hit two home runs and six doubles while accounting for 19 RBIs.
A true freshman during the 2022 season, Lord has three years of eligibility remaining.
Doerr is a native of Eugene, Oregon, while Lord hails from Trussville, Alabama.
