Toledo has hired Jessica Bracamonte as the program’s new head coach.
Bracamonte spent the last three seasons on staff at Duke. She worked with the Blue Devils’ outfield and short game before leaving the staff earlier in the summer. While at Duke, Bracamonte was part of the Regional Coaching Staff of the Year in both 2021 and 2022.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jessica to the Toledo Rockets family,” Toledo athletic director Bryan Blair said in a school statement. “She brings great energy and experience to this role, from being a Big Ten student-athlete to 10-plus years working on very successful Division I coaching staffs. The future of Toledo Softball is bright, and we are fortunate to have Jessica leading our program.”
Prior to her tenure at Duke, Bracamonte spent six years on staff at Central Michigan where she was the Chippewas’ hitting coach. Her resume also includes a single year on staff at Golden West College and a stint on the support staff at Michigan State, her alma mater.
Toledo finished the 2022 season with a 12-37 overall record and a 5-21 showing in MAC play.
