Joe Guthrie is joining the Texas A&M coaching staff under first-year head coach Trisha Ford, the school announced on Tuesday.
Guthrie spent the last two years as the head coach at UAB, leading the Blazers to back-to-back appearances in the Conference USA tournament. He led the program to a 56-43 overall record.
Prior to taking the reins of the UAB program, Guthrie spent three years as the Blazers’ top assistant coach. His resume also includes one season as an assistant coach with the Ragin Cajuns and stints on staff at Bucknell and Penn State. He also spent six seasons as the head coach at Marion Military Institute.
Ford’s full-time staff is now complete; after being announced as the Aggie head coach last week, Ford’s former Arizona State assistant Jeff Harger also joined the Aggie staff as an assistant.
