Kassidy Krupit: “What Softball Has Taught Me”

With her high school days coming to close, one of the top softball players in the nation at any age division, pitcher/infielder Kassidy Krupit of Lambert High in Suwanee, Georgia can now start to look back on a softball career that has seen her accomplish just about every goal she could have ever dreamed of reaching.

Here are just some of her amazing accomplishments:

  • She was a four-year varsity starter and holds 23 career and single-season school records
  • Her senior year was named as the Region Player of the Year, County Pitcher and Player of the Year.
  • Named to the 1st Team All County, All Region and All State Teams all four years of high school and to the GHSA and Georgia Dugout Club Senior All-State teams.

  • Competed among the top players in the country this past August in Louisiana to earn a spot on the USSSA Elite Select All American 1st Team.
  • Ranked as one of the top 50 players in the country
  • Kassidy savors the time on her campus visit to the University of Delaware where she’ll study Physical Therapy.

Lead her high school team to two region championship titles, the state playoffs all four years and to the Class 7A (Georgia’s largest and toughest high school classification) state championships her junior and senior years.

  • Starred as a pitcher and infielder for Greg Schnute’s East Cobb Bullets 18 Gold Team and in one memorable game in the Triple Crown World Series in New York City hit three home runs off of three different pitchers.

  • Signed to play Division 1 softball at the University of Delaware, where she’ll study Physical Therapy.

Kassidy also wields a dangerous bat and hit .580 this past fall for her East Cobb Bullets team coached by Greg Schnute, who says of his prized senior: “Kassidy is always smiling and enjoying life. She almost works too hard and too much as she’s a competitor, but she’s delightful to have on our team.”

Here’s are some of the key benefits the senior says she’s learned from softball along her journey…

***

Softball has taught me numerous life lessons.

Softball’s taught me how to be competitive and come out on top in everything I do. That’s just the way I am wired.

I’m extremely motivated in life in general because of softball. I believe that the harder you work, the better the reward.

This sport has also taught me how to work within a team. Working with other people is one of the most, if not the most important, trait someone can obtain in life.

Kassidy’s ability to pitch, field and hit made her coveted by major programs around the nation.

Balancing school, softball, and a social life is the hardest part about being a student-athlete. Having good organization skills and time management skills really facilitate balancing my life. These components will definitely help me succeed in life.

With high school graduation approaching, I am excited and anxious for my next chapter to begin in a few months! One phrase that describes me is “always on the go.”

I always have to be doing something and I feel this aspect will transfer into my college life placidly. Even though college will be quite rigorous, I am up for the challenge.

About a little under two years ago, I received a special opportunity give softball lessons to players in the community. Nothing has made me fall in love with the game more than giving back to this sport and its community!

This opportunity has allowed me to open up a different view of the game and has led me to be a better overall player.

My advice for girls in the recruiting process is to improve your skills, market yourself, and continue to receive good grades. There is no need to stress if you are following that process.

Once a few opportunities roll through, pick the school that you have a mutuality with, where they love you and you love that institution.
