Division II Lincoln University is joining the Great Lakes Vallley Conference (GLVC), effective in the 2024-25 season.
Lincoln’s addition to the GLVC was unanimously approved by the GLVC Council of Presidents on January 23rd. The addition of the Blue Tigers will raise the GLVC membership to fifteen in total; Lincoln will also be the first HBCU member school in the conference’s history.
The Blue Tigers currently compete in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA). As part of the transition to the GLVC, the athletic department is adding three sports, including baseball and men’s and women’s soccer. The three sports will raise the total number sponsored by Lincoln to 14.
During the 2022 softball season, Lincoln finished with a 12-35 overall record and posted a winless 0-26 showing in MIAA conference play.
