Former Arizona State standout Maddi Hackbarth has been named the head coach at Central Arizona College.
An NJCAA Division 1 team, Central Arizona is located in Pinal County, Arizona.
The position is the first head coaching role for Hackbarth, who finished her collegiate playing career at ASU with the 2021 season. She spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach at CAC.
Hackbarth began her playing career at Fresno State before transferring to Arizona State. She was named a Second Team NFCA All-American in 2021 as a 5th-year senior. Despite only spending part of her career as a Sun Devil, she finished her career ranked 5th in program history in home runs.
Central Arizona finished the 2022 season with a 49-8 overall record and a 38-6 showing in conference play.
A previous version of this article referenced a press release that Hackbarth had coached at South Mountain Community College in 2022. It was later clarified that she coached at Central Arizona during the 2022 season.
