Former Mississippi State pitcher Vicki Bonar Earnshaw has passed away.

Earnshaw was 59.

Mississippi State softball posted a statement on social media following Earnshaw’s passing: “Our family is saddened to learn of the passing of Vicki Bonar Earnshaw, a key member of the 80s Ladies who threw out the first pitch at their recognition game this spring. Mrs. Vicki loved our student-athletes, and they loved her. We will miss you.”

The “80s Ladies” was a group of alumni honored by the Bulldogs’ softball program last season. Earnshaw was one of two members of the group that threw out a ceremonial first pitch as part of the festivities.

A 1986 graduate, Earnshaw pitched for two years for the Bulldogs, posting a 1.77 career ERA in 257 innings of work. She recorded 19 wins from the pitching circle, notched 107 strikeouts, and threw 30 complete games.
