Marshall has hired Morgan Zerkle as the program’s new head coach.
Zerkle is an alumnus of the Thundering Herd program, a 2017 graduate of Marshall.
Most recently, Zerkle spent four years as an assistant coach at Miami Ohio, working with the Redhawks’ offense. She was part of the coaching staff that led Miami to three consecutive NCAA tournament appearances from 2021-23.
Prior to her tenure on the Miami staff, Zerkle spent two seasons on the support staff at Indiana.
As a player with the Thundering Herd, Zerkle earned All-American honors as a senior and ended her career in Huntington as the program’s all-time leader in batting average, stolen bases, and triples. She continues to play professionally with Athletes Unlimited.
