The first of four title games in the PGF 16U and 14U Nationals kicked off at 9:30 am PST in Irvine, California as two teams from the West, the OC Batbusters-Garcia and the NW Bullets from Portland, Oregon battled in Deanna Stadium in Bill Barber Park.
The Bullets, the “underdogs” according to the team’s Head Coach Kayla Rice “as we’re from the Northwest and have to prove ourselves against a powerhouse program like the OC Batbusters,” beat the Batbusters 7-1 in a run-rule shortened six inning game and takes a second National Championship back to Oregon after the 18U team won a title two years ago.
