UConn pitcher Elise Sokolsky has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball.
Sokolsky enjoyed an impressive freshman season for the Huskies in 2022, leading the program with 39 appearances in the circle. She posted a conference-leading 20 wins during her rookie year and also led the conference with 180 strikeouts. She added a 2.55 ERA and five complete games to her stat sheet.
After the regular season, Sokolsky was a unanimous all-conference first-team selection and earned a pair of Big East Freshman of the Week honors during the year.
Sokolsky’s 159 innings of work accounted for just over 43% of UConn’s work in the circle last season; coupled with the graduated MaryBeth Olson, the Huskies’ pitching staff has now seen more than 72% of their innings from a year ago exit since year’s end.
