Liberty’s Rachel Roupe has been named the Extra Inning Softball National Player of the Week for her efforts during Week 13 of the Division 1 softball season.
Roupe batted .500 on the week, with two doubles, four home runs, and 13 RBIs.
In a midweek win over Virginia Tech, Roupe hit a two-run home run in the first inning that stated the scoring for Liberty.
Starting off a weekend series against Queens, Roupe was 1-3 with a double in game one of a doubleheader. In the second game of the doubleheader, Roupe was 3-3 at the plate with a double, two home runs, and six RBIs. Her production in game two included a two-run double and a pair of two-run home runs.
On Saturday, in the series finale, Roupe was 2-5 at the plate with a home run and five RBIs. She tied the game with a two-RBI single in the fifth inning, then contributed to the Flames breaking it open when she hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning.
She posted a 1.500 slugging percentage and a .533 on-base percentage on the week, in addition to her other statistics.
Roupe is currently on a 10-game hitting streak that has also seen her notch 19 RBIs.
