National College Softball Editor Justin McLeod is on the road throughout the 2022 college softball season, chronicling his travels in a Road Trip Diary. On Tuesday, April 26th, his travels took him to Columbus, Ohio for a midweek clash between the Penn State Nittany Lions and the hosting Ohio State Buckeyes.

In a set of games that was rescheduled twice before finally taking place on Tuesday afternoon, Ohio State and Penn State split a doubleheader in Columbus. Ohio State took game one, while Penn State posted a win in game two; the two face-offs had identical 4-2 final scores.

This was my first trip to Columbus and Buckeye Field, though I had already seen both of these teams in the early part of the season in Florida. Both looked much improved on Tuesday from where they were at that time.
