Robert Morris Alum Kayla Crooks Appears in New TV Series

Former Robert Morris softballer Kayla Crooks appears in the new Amazon-streaming show A League of Their Own.

The show is based on the 1992 film of the same name, but includes new characters with unique storylines. Both the movie and the show focus on the World War II-era All-American Girls Professional Baseball League.

Season 1 of the new show debuted its full 8-episode offering on August 12th on Amazon. Crooks played at Robert Morris from 2008-11 and will appear in the show as a member of the Rockford Peaches team.

While at RMU, Crooks was a true utility player; in her junior season, she started games at SIX different positions, including catcher; first base; second base; third base; center field; and right field. She ended her RMU career with a .231 lifetime batting average, 15 doubles, 54 runs scored, 3 home runs, and 7 stolen bases.
