Rubber Game of the Weekend: Home Run Contest Goes to the Nationals

Nerissa Myers of Scrap Yard had two home runs Sunday in the third game of the opening series weekend.

Sunday’s rubber game of the three-game weekend series between Scrap Yard and the Nationals at the Scrap Yard Sports Complex in Conroe, Texas went to the Nationals 11-6.

Tied 4-4 through four and a half innings despite a pair of home runs by Scrap Yard’s Nerissa Myers, the record setting infielder who went to Louisiana-Lafayette, Scrap Yard didn’t take the lead until the bottom of the fifth when it pushed ahead two runs.

Hannah Flippen of the Nationals homered to lead off the top of the 6th inning.

Hannah Flippen responded with a home run in the top of the 6th which opened the floodgates as the Nationals scored seven runs to go ahead 11-6, which ended up being the final score.
