Scrap Yard vs. Nationals: Will the Home Run Barrage Continue Tonight?

If you like offense, you’ve certainly come to the right place as the best pro softball players in the world have put on a show the last two nights in Colorado.

After the Scrap Yard team swept the three game series at McNeese State over the weekend, the Nationals squad is looking to return the favor tonight by capturing the last of a trio of games played in conjunction with TCS Fireworks/Sparkler tournament.

Tonight’s game will be streamed live on the Extra Inning Softball Facebook and Extra Inning Softball YouTube channels.

The Nationals took Tuesday night’s game 10-8 and last night held on for a 9-7 victory in what was a fun game if you like offensive firepower as five blasts were hit between the two teams.

Sam Fischer-Cook smacked a pair of dingers for Scrap Yard in the losing cause and Amanda Chidester still has people talking after her mammoth three-run homer as she went 2-for-3 for the night and had four RBIs in total to help the Nationals win by a pair of runs for the second night in a row.

Kylee Hanson, fresh off the Florida State National Championship high, was the winning pitcher as she lasted all seven innings, although the former Seminole great did give up seven earned runs.

Brittany Cervantes hit a three-run shot of her own and Fischer-Cook hit a solo shot in the top of 7th inning for Scrap Yard which entered the final inning training 9-3, but Hanson was able to close the door for the win.
