
Florida’s Skylar Wallace has been named the Extra Inning Softball National Player of the Week for her efforts during Week 10 of the Division 1 softball season.
The Gators’ redshirt junior was nearly perfect at the plate in a three-game SEC series against Georgia and a midweek jaunt against North Florida.
Wallace batted .800 (8-10) across the four games, with four home runs; eight RBIs; and eight runs scored.
Against North Florida, Wallace was 2-3 from the leadoff spot. She scored two runs, notched a triple, and earned a walk.
In the series opener against Georgia, Wallace was perfect at the plate as she piloted the Gators to a lopsided 13-4 win. Wallace was 4-4, with three home runs, seven RBIs, and a walk to her credit. She homered to lead off the home half of the first, then added a two-run shot in the second. An RBI single in the fourth inning scored another run, before Wallace capped off her day with a three-run home run in the sixth inning.
A 1-2 performance including two walks, two runs scored, and her fourth home run of the weekend came in game two vs. Georgia, while she finished the series finale 1-1 at the plate with three walks and a run scored. She added three stolen bases across the final two games of the weekend.
