South Carolina Second Baseman Maddie Gallagher Enters Transfer Portal

Maddie Gallagher spent the first two years of her career as a South Carolina Gamecock.

South Carolina infielder Maddie Gallagher has entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, sources confirmed to Extra Inning Softball on Thursday.

Per sources, Gallagher’s name appeared in the portal on October 30th. She spent the last two seasons at South Carolina and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Gallagher started 56 games for the Gamecocks in 2022, appearing in every game her team played and spending the majority of her time as the starting second baseman. In her true freshman season in 2021, she saw action at third base and in the outfield.

During the 2022 season, Gallagher finished third on the roster with a .292 batting average. She led the squad with four triples, finished fourth on the team with eight doubles, and notched 28 RBIs on the year.
