These are the write-ups that are truly the most fun. Stetson head coach Shellie Robinson Cousins, assistant coach Liz Jackson, and graduate assistant Riley Russell put themselves on the line as part of the program’s recent fundraising drive.
It was a simple incentive: If anyone gave $1,000 to the Stetson softball program, the program’s entire coaching staff would get “pied” in the face.
Told you this was fun.
On Thursday, the first $1,000 donation came in and on Friday, there were two more. Then the coaches paid up.
Thank you to everyone who donated to Stetson Softball last week! We truly appreciate your support! 💚
As promised, the coaching staff will get pied for each $1,000 donation we received. 1 down, 2 to go! #piethecoaches #GoHats pic.twitter.com/Kv0WfmwDiP

Don’t miss the slo-mo replay of Jackson’s pie-ing. As of Sunday, the coaches had only paid up on 33% of their debt, so it appears there are more pies in their futures.
Robinson Cousins, now entering her second season as the head coach at Stetson and her fourth year with the program overall, is the fifth-youngest head coach in Division 1. Jackson is a program alumnus, entering her second season as an assistant coach on the staff. Russell is also a program alumnus in her second year as a coach.
“If you can’t have fun then what’s the point?! Gotta laugh hard and laugh often!” Robinson Cousins said, pre-pieing.
Never doubt a coach’s commitment to their team, especially a coach who’s willing to take pies to the face to help their team raise money.
