The Terrific Ten has you covered on all the best highlights from all the action across college softball on Saturday!

*****

1. Sydney McKinney was perfect on Saturday, registering a 7-7 showing at the plate across two games in Texas. McKinney notched three doubles and scored five runs on the day, with an RBI also to her credit. She’s hitting .800 on the year through the first four games and contributed to her team’s undefeated start.

2. Missouri, Northwestern, and Texas completed a circle of wins and losses, as each team wnet 1-1 against the others in the group on Friday and Saturday. After Texas shellacked Missouri and Northwestern recorded a come-from-behind win over Texas during Friday’s action, Missouri completed the circle with a win over Northwestern on Saturday. Laurin Krings threw a complete-game, allowing four hits and striking out three, while the Tigers scored six unanswered runs and outhit Northwestern by a large margin, 11-4.

3. Colgate and Longwood were Saturday’s top upset winners, besting Minnesota and Florida State, respectively. In Leesburg, Colgate earned a 4-3 win over the Gophers, becoming the second Patriot League team to record a win over a Power Five opponent on opening week (joining Lehigh). Longwood built up a lead over FSU and held the Noles down from there, withstanding a comeback effort en route to a 5-4 victory.

4. Taylor Tinsley lived up to the hype in her UCLA debut, throwing a no-hitter in her first game in a Bruins uniform. Tinsley joined Bruin great Amanda Freed as the only UCLA pitchers to throw a no-hitter in their first career start with the program, dominating Cal State Bakersfield in the 8-0 win and striking out four. The no-no was the 115th hitless performance recorded by a UCLA pitcher in program history.

5. In her own Division 1 debut, Grand Canyon pitcher Emily Darwin wrote her name in the D1 record book right away. The Lopes pitcher, a former Yavapai College transfer, recorded the first-ever perfect game in GCU program history. Darwin dominated Green Bay through five innings, striking out seven, while her offense backed her up with an 8-run onslaught.
