The Terrific Ten has you covered on all the best highlights from all the action across college softball on Thursday!

*****

1. Boston University continued their impressive season on Thursday and freshman Kasey Ricard was the star of the show. Ricard showed out in the circle in a match up against ranked-opponent Baylor, notching ten strikeouts along the way. Ricard gave up six hits, none of them for extra bases, and just one walk. She earned her 6th win of the year in the game and threw 137 pitches.

2. Stanford waltzed into Wichita, Kansas and made quick work of the powerful Wichita State offense. The game went a full seven innings, but the Cardinal dominated all the way. A six-run first inning included an RBI double, a pair of bases-loaded walks, and two RBI singles and was all the offense that the Cardinal needed in an eventual 11-0 win. The 13-hit affair included just four extra base hits, while Alana Vawter threw an 8-hit, 7-strikeout shutout.

3. Savannah Woodard hit a grand slam to cap an 11-run second inning in Liberty’s win over Ball State, an impressive achievement in its own right but the historical coincidences of the longball added an extra element. The last time that Liberty scored eleven runs in an inning was March 6, 2021. The grand slam on Thursday was the second of Woodard’s career; her first? The exact same day, on March 6, 2021 while at Alabama.

4. Michigan standout outfielder Lexie Blair set a new program record with the 62nd double of her career. The first-inning game-winning RBI hit broke a three-way tie atop the program’s career list and also helped vault the Wolverines to a 4-0 win over Kent State.

5. It was a wild 8th inning out in Long Beach, with San Diego State and LBSU putting together quite the extra frame. After a 2-2 tie forced extra innings, SDSU scored two unearned runs in the top of the inning on an RBI double from Jillian Celis. An RBI groundout in the bottom of the frame put Long Beach State back within a run, but that’s where they would stay as the Aztecs took home the 4-3 final score.
