Thanks to the continued success of Oklahoma and the emergence of both Oklahoma State and Texas as upper-tier programs in the country, Big 12 softball has exploded within the last several years. The league is deeper than ever – with six of its seven member programs reaching the NCAA tournament in either 2019 or 2021 – and has placed multiple teams in the Women’s College World Series in each of the last two editions of the championship tournament.
Even as strong as the Big 12 is on the softball diamond, nothing is guaranteed and no one is perfect. There are questions surrounding every team entering the 2022 season.
