
The Division III championship field was officially unveiled on Monday, in a selection show aired on the NCAA’s website.
Sixty-two teams will be part of the field; there are sixteen regionals, though one of the regionals will be held as a best-of-three series between two teams. The remaining fifteen regionals each have the standard four teams participating.
Texas Lutheran and Chapman will play the head-to-head regional.
Christopher Newport, who has lost just once this season and spent nearly the entire year ranked #1 in the nation, earned the top seed in the tournament. The Captains are 37-1 on the year.
In Division 3, 43 teams qualified for the NCAA tournament via automatic bids that were earned via conference championships. Only 19 at-large bids were extended. For a link to the full bracket, click here.
Sixteen teams will host regionals; those schools include Amherst, Trine, Randolph-Macon, Case Western Reserve, Millikin, SUNY Geneseo, Arcadia, DePauw, East Texas Baptist, Tufts, Christopher Newport, Salisbury, Texas Lutheran, Bethel, Saint Benedict, and Kean.
