*****

1. Audra Thompson’s two-out, 2-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Troy a walk-off win over Louisiana in the series opener between the two teams. The Trojans had lost ten straight games to the Cajuns and were down 7-4 entering the bottom of the 6th inning; the Trojans scored twice in the sixth before Thompson’s walk-off in the 7th secured the win.

2. Laurin Krings was sensational in the circle for Missouri on Friday in their series opener against North Texas, as the Tigers’ hurler threw a no-hitter and secured a 1-0 win for her team. Krings collected 17 strikeouts in the game, with a Mizzou infield error allowing the only base runner for the visiting Mean Green. Krings gave up no free passes and only let three balls leave the infield.

3. Northwestern and Michigan were locked into quite the battle to open their Big Ten series, playing into the 11th inning before Jordyn Rudd hit an RBI single to center field that scored Skyler Shellmyer to give the Wildcats a 4-3 lead that would ultimately be the final score.

4. It took a full seven innings and a comeback effort, but Duke pulled off a win over a feisty Georgia Tech team. The Yellow Jackets took a 2-1 lead in the fourth inning before the Blue Devils tied the game in the fifth. Georgia Tech scored in the top of the 7th on a Grace Connelly home run, then Duke came back in the bottom of the frame, first tying the game on an RBI double before D’Auna Jennings’ RBI single gave the Blue Devils the series-opening win.

5. An 8th-inning RBI single by Reese Atwood led to the only run scored on Friday night between Texas and Oklahoma State, with the base knock handing the Longhorns the 1-0 walk-off win. Oklahoma State pitcher Lexi Kilfoyl took a no-hitter into the 7th inning before Atwood’s bases-loaded single ended the game and put it into the W column for the H orns.
