Throw Back Thursday: Meet the PA Strikers, Who Made It To the Final 4 in the Premier 14U Winner’s Bracket on Thursday

The Strikers after winning the PGF Qualifier in Myrtle Beach earlier this year.

In mid-March of this year, we profiled a promising looking team from the Keystone State that looked like it had a chance to do some damage this year in Nationals.

How prophetic this turned out to be, as Head Coach Camille Hayes saw her team twice fight back from six-run deficits on Thursday to make it to the Final Four of the Winner’s Brackets in PGF 14U Premier play.

Here’s a closer look at the team as we originally published this on March 17, 2018; comments are by Coach Hayes who sheepishly told us today some thought her comments were “a little over the top.”

Hey, as we like to say, if you can back it up, it ain’t braggin…

WHAT MAKES US SO GOOD:

  • Speed, Size, Power and Athleticism – every player on this team is an athlete.  Our players run track, play AAU basketball, excel in volleyball, play soccer, field hockey, run 5ks, cross train and we even have a nationally ranked female archer.  That said, they all make softball their top priority and all have a goal to play D1 College Softball.
  • Championship experience: Six of our players have won a National Championship together; three of those players have won two National Championships together.
  • Deadly duo (more on them in a minute!): We have (in our opinion) at least two of the top 2021 athletes on the East Coast.  They met in 8U and have played together since 2013.  They know each other’s every move and people say they read each other’s mind.  They bring a dangerous 1-2 punch to the middle infield and top of the batting line-up.  Other teams and organizations have been after them both for years.
