Earlier this fall, the tally of assistant coaching hires this summer and fall tallied up to more than 160 transactions in Division 1 softball alone. A number of Power Five schools experienced changes within their staffs, even with few head coaching roles changing hands, and as has become a custom in recent years, we also saw some head coaches return to the assistant ranks in new roles.
