Nearly 160 assistant coaching positions changed hands this offseason – and that’s just at the Division 1 level!
Whether the spots were vacated by someone leaving coaching; retirements; simple changes of scenery; or by someone who took another position elsewhere, the assistant coaching carousel went around and around even into December. Some schools are just weeks from the 2023 season without their full staffs intact, while there are also some who have made hires that have not been publicly announced.
In today’s Top 10 rankings, we’re counting down the best assistant coaching hires of the offseason. As a reminder, this list only includes Division I paid assistant coaches; volunteers and GAs don’t qualify and head coaching moves will have their own list to come.
Without further ado… onto the Top 10!
