When a new coach comes in to a program, it can take a while for a true rebuilding project to take shape. Sometimes it’s a matter of getting the right talent in the fold, sometimes it’s a matter of simply implementing a new system the right way.
At other times, though, good things do happen in short order. A little tweak here, a change in methodology there and sometimes a program can get on the right track sooner rather than later.
It doesn’t just happen under new regimes, either – even long-tenured coaching staffs can find the right group of players or the right pieces of the puzzle to go from worst to first in the span of just a season.
Those are the programs we’re looking at today; we’re calling them “quick change” artists but there are no magic shows or illusions involved. These are the teams that got real results and turned their programs around the fastest, year-to-year, in 2022.
