Last week, we started a new trend in spotlighting the week’s Top Performers in an article all their own. Instead of getting lost in a tiny stat line at the bottom of a compilation of the week’s happening, the players who stood out over the week got a chance to shine all by themselves.

We liked that concept so much, we decided there’s no way we could go back to simple stat lines… so let’s take a look at the Top Performers from Week 7 of the D1 season.

Madie Green, Louisiana Tech – Green batted .778 in a three-game weekend series, going 7-9 at the plate and clubbing four home runs. She recorded a multi-hit game in all three of her team’s weekend outings, scored six runs, and was responsible for nine RBIs. Green hit two home runs in the series opener, was a perfect 2-2 in game two of the series, and was 3-4 at the plate in the series finale.

Kamrie Rich, Lipscomb – Rich batted .636 for the Bisons this week, going 7-11 at the plate with a pair of home runs to her credit. Rich recorded eight RBI during the 4-game week and scored four runs herself. She also earned four walks and notched a double to add to her stat line. She was 4-6 in a midweek contest against Chattanooga and hit both of her home runs in a series finale against Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday.

Kianna Jones, North Carolina – Jones had a tremendous weekend at the plate for UNC this weekend, taking part in an offensive outpouring of a 3-game series. She was 6-11 at the plate, hit a home run in each of her team’s games against archrivals NC State, scored four runs, and recorded eight RBIs. She recorded a multi-hit performance in each game of the weekend and added a double in the series opener and a triple in the series finale for good measure.

Emma Rosonke, Creighton – In a three-game conference series against Providence, Rosonke showed red-hot power at the plate. She had just four hits on the weekend, but three of them went over the fence and she ended the week with a total of 12 RBIs in three games. The three games of four runs batted in each raised her total of 4-RBI games to five this season alone.

Maddie Latta, Yale – The Ivy League rookie had a career week at the plate for the Bulldogs, hitting four home runs in four games and collecting five RBI on the week. She also stepped into the pitching circle and earned the win in a 3-strikeout, 5-inning performance in a midweek clash with Central Connecticut State.

Carley Nance, Seattle – The Redhawks’ two-way star hit a trio of home runs in a conference series against Utah Valley, adding to her career-high total in that category this season. Nance drove in eight runs on the week and recorded a 1.556 slugging percentage in the three games. She earned WAC Player of the Week honors on Monday for her efforts at the plate.
