Minnesota All-American catcher Kendyl Lindaman has elected to enter the NCAA transfer portal and leave the Golden Gophers.

Sources have confirmed the report to Justin’s World of Softball, while multiple teammates of Lindaman’s also confirmed the news via their own social media accounts.

Lindaman is a two-time All-American selection, earning nominations to the 1st team in 2017 and 2nd team in 2018. Twice named the Big Ten Player of the Year, Lindaman hit over .500 in conference play during the ’18 season and owns 40 home runs from her pair of seasons as a Golden Gopher.

The third-year backstop’s trophy case includes the 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year award, as well as consecutive 1st team All-Conference and All-Region nominations. Lindaman was additionally a Top 3 finalist for the National Freshman of the Year award during her rookie year.

As she finds a new home, Lindaman carries a career batting average of .393, with 40 home runs and 131 RBI. She owns a .865 career slugging percentage and a .565 on-base percentage, with 118 career walks.

Sarah Hudek of Texas A&M played baseball at a high level before joining the Aggies’ program.

Texas A&M outfielder Sarah Hudek has entered the NCAA’s new transfer portal and will transfer from the Aggies, sources have confirmed to Justin’s World of Softball.

Hudek will spend her junior and senior seasons in a different uniform than the one where she spent the first two years of her collegiate softball career.

Her college sports career began a year earlier, however, when she played baseball for a single season at a community college in Louisiana. At that time, Hudek had never played softball, but was recruited to Texas A&M due to her athletic prowess in the bat-and-ball sports.

She earned SEC all-freshmen honors in 2017, and an all-region nomination in 2018.

Hudek is the latest former Aggie starter to depart the program since the end of the 2018 season. A six-member graduating class was followed out by a pair of transfers, including speedy outfielder Keeli Milligan, as well as the departure of a pair of players, including starter Kaitlyn Alderink, who will remain at Texas A&M for academic endeavors.

The Aggies are left with just one returning offensive starter in 2019. Two years removed from a Women’s College World Series appearance, the Aggies were eliminated early in the 2018 SEC tournament, but reached the Super Regional round of the NCAA tournament, where they ultimately fell in the best-of-three series against Florida.

No new destination was immediately known for Hudek, although sources confirmed several programs’ interest in adding her to their roster.
